I’m not sure if it’s just because I am bored or I like to spend money like crazy but I want to pick up a new skill and hobby. I love cosplay and I have always wanted to buy things so I can but now I am inspired by the many people I know, see, and witness who create their own cosplay. I want to cosplay Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul my favorite anime since I’ve been shown it. I want to gender bend it and make it this scary sexy dark girl Ken. I relate to his story in some ways of emotional growing and therefore now I would like to embark on the hobbit of creating the character for me to “try on”. I am googling how to make the mask and designing it by hand. I hope to get it done by the time CPAC comes around in April but that may be too much of a time crunch for me. I understand it takes time, skill, and money to do these things. I have time, and some skill, but funding is low at the moment. I have a whole list of characters that I want to Cosplay but this is my first step and I really hope it goes well.
I already have been learning sign language, playing ukulele, gaming, writing, photography, cinematography, painting, drawing, selling things on Etsy (which isn’t going well), and making this blog (which is a rocky road I’ll admit) as some of my many hobbies but this is just something that is right up my alley, I think. I could use some help. If you have links, suggestions, etc I would appreciate them in the comments below. Other than that maybe this will be just another journey I will blog about, and probably vlog about. I’ll keep you updated! And if you have any suggestions on how to maybe to get cheap or cheaper worblas I would appreciate it.
These hobbies may be great in size but if you find yourself feeling lost or anxious (like I do a lot), hobbies like these can build community around you. It’s creative, enjoyable, hard but fun, and all around a great anxiety relief. To do things with your hands and mind just help develop you as a human and mend your mental emotional state and allow for positive growth. Individualism is key to any survivor of trauma or anxiety especially PTSD, not meaning to separate you from the world type of individualism but creative tasks that allow you to be you in your own space as a form of natural therapy. Thus allowing for your overall health to become positive and allow others to join your path. This gives strength and if you’re looking for a life to live to escape from anxiety, depression, insecurities, or whatever use your own. You can do this. We can do this.
Until Next Time,
